Who this is from

I'm Rishi Modha, a sole trader in England. I run this website and publish the apps that link to this page, and I'm responsible for the information described here. You can reach me at hello@rishimodha.com.

This website

The site doesn't use analytics, advertising trackers or marketing cookies, and it doesn't sell or share visitor data.

Like every website, it runs on a web host that records standard server logs: your IP address, your browser, the page you asked for and when. The host uses them to keep the site running and secure, and keeps them only for its usual short period.

The contact form and email

If you use the contact form or email me, I receive the name, email address, business or product name and message you send, so that I can reply. The form sends it to me by email. Nothing you send is added to a mailing list.

To stop the form being flooded with spam, the server keeps a scrambled, one-way version of your IP address and the times you sent a message, for one hour. It can't be turned back into your address, and it's deleted after the hour.

I keep your messages for as long as I need to deal with them and for up to 12 months after, then delete them. You can ask me to delete them sooner.

My apps

This part covers my apps that link to this page. An app that works differently has its own privacy policy, linked from the app and its App Store listing.

What the apps keep, and why

Everything an app keeps is stored on your iPhone or iPad and is never sent to me. There's no account and no sign-in. Depending on the app, that means:

  • the names and colours you choose for players, which you type in yourself (a nickname works just as well);
  • your progress: scores, answers, streaks, the questions or words you got wrong, and your stats;
  • your settings, such as sound, appearance, spelling and a reminder time.

The apps use this only to work: to show your scores, progress and leaderboard, to choose what to ask next, and to bring back what you got wrong. Widgets and Siri read the same information on your device. Data doesn't move between devices. Where my apps on the same device share a list of players, they share only that, and only with each other.

Purchases

Apple takes payment for subscriptions. An app asks the App Store whether your Apple Account has an active subscription and unlocks its paid features if it does. I never receive your payment details or your identity. Apple gives me sales totals that don't identify you.

Reminders and sharing

A daily reminder is off until you turn it on, and iOS asks your permission at that point. Your device schedules and shows it, and nothing about it is sent anywhere. If an app lets you share a score or export a file, it's made on your device and goes only where you choose to send it.

Third parties

I don't sell or share your information with anyone. The apps contain no third-party code: no analytics, advertising or tracking tools of any kind.

The only other companies involved are the ones any app or website relies on: Apple, which runs the App Store, processes purchases and delivers notifications; and my web host and email provider, which carry the website and your messages. Each handles that information under its own privacy commitments, which protect it at least as well as this policy does. If I ever used another service that could see your information, it would have to do the same, and I would update this page first.

Keeping and deleting your information

App data stays on your device until you delete it, and I hold no copy of it, so there's nothing on my side to delete. Each app lets you clear or reset what it has kept from inside the app, and deleting an app from your device deletes everything it kept.

Messages you send me are kept as described above. Email hello@rishimodha.com to see or delete anything you've sent.

Changing your mind

  • Turn a reminder off in the app's Settings, or turn notifications off for the app in iOS Settings.
  • Cancel a subscription at any time in your Apple Account settings.
  • Ask me to delete your messages by emailing hello@rishimodha.com.

Under UK data protection law you can also ask what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

Some of my apps are made for families to use together. They collect nothing about the person using them. Any name typed into an app stays on the device and can be anything you like.
