The problem
Buckinghamshire grammar-school research is spread across government tables, school websites, maps and allocation documents. Parents had to reconcile different school names, reporting years and measures before they could answer a practical question: which schools deserve a closer look?
The solution
ElevenReady turns that fragmented research into one decision path. A family can begin with its postcode, compare historic allocation distances, inspect admissions demand, rank all 13 schools and then open a detailed profile for academic history, school information and official links.
At launch, the product covered all 13 Buckinghamshire grammar schools, five available academic years, eight allocation years and 43 subjects across 8,308 A-Level entries.
Start with the decision
The homepage does not ask parents to understand the data model. It starts with the questions they already have: Do we live close enough? Which schools have the strongest results? How competitive is each school for places?
From postcode to shortlist
The catchment map compares a home postcode with every school and displays published furthest-offer distances as separate yearly rings. The rankings then bring GCSE pass rates, Attainment 8, Progress 8, average A-Level grade, Ofsted rating and applications per place into one sortable view.
“In range” does not mean “you will get in”
Historic allocation distance is context, not a prediction. ElevenReady explains that admissions still depend on criteria, demand and year instead of turning a past boundary into a misleading chance-of-entry score.
School and subject evidence
Each school profile combines admissions figures, catchment history, multi-year GCSE and A-Level performance, school information and links to the underlying official records.
The A-Level analytics go deeper than a single average grade. Parents can compare A*/A rates by school and subject, subject popularity, grade distributions, differences by school gender and changes in entry numbers across available years.
Every figure keeps its context
Each result retains its school, measure and reporting year. If data is unavailable, it stays unavailable; an older figure is never presented as current.
How the data stays accurate
Department for Education performance tables, GIAS school records, Ofsted ratings and Buckinghamshire Council allocation profiles are converted into one checked format before any page uses them. Official school identifiers and verified coordinates prevent similarly named schools from being mixed up.
The impact
ElevenReady turns hours of disconnected research into a focused comparison journey while keeping the source, year and limitations of the evidence visible.
